Blue cohosh

Caulophyllum halictroides
Commonly known as squaw root, blue cohosh, has been used by the North American Indians to give to their womem to make childbirths easier and to induce labour when the proper time arrives.
This herb is very useful in treating a variety of woman’s health problems. It is considered a uterine tonic, and an emmenagogue, and has the ability to stimulate menstrual flow, and regulates menstrual flow. With its uterine tonic action, it helps to relieve lower abdominal cramps, caused by poor uterine ciculation, and especially when it's accompanied by scanty menstrual flow.
It can be used to treat chronic uterine problems, leucorrhea, rheumatism, neuralgia, inflammation of the vagina, colic, hysteria, palpitation of the heart, hypertension, and diabetes. It is also good for whooping cough, and hiccup.
Precaution
It should not be used in cases of heavy menstrual bleeding or when there is an Intra-uterine contraceptive in place. It should be strictly avoided during pregnancy.This herb can irritate the mucous membranes, use it with caution.
